Business brand voice and why you need to establish one for your business

Defining your brand voice

Your brand voice is an integral part of your brand identity, it conveys your brand's personality to your audience. A consistent brand voice across all media platforms gives your brand a cohesive feel, makes it recognisable and helps to build loyalty and trust with a consistent message.

Ask yourself: If your brand was a person, how would you describe its personality to someone?

Examples of Brand “personality” or traits:

  1. Sophisticated.
  2. Informal.
  3. Authentic.

Examples of how these traits are used in the content creation or a brands copy tone:

  • Sophisticated: Cultured, refined, elegant, polished.
  • Informal: Casual, informal, friendly, open.
  • Authentic: Genuine, real, trustworthy, original.

Final Tip: Always make sure your content and copy incorporates your brand voice. You can do this by adding it to your Company Corporate identity guidelines and include examples or outlining this to your service providers when requesting your branding elements from them.
